Another drowning on the Russian River in Sonoma County; deputies searching for body

(KRON) — Authorities are searching for the body of a man who is thought to have drowned in the Russian River at the Hacienda Bridge Saturday.

The man was seen using a rope swing to jump into the water shortly after 5:30 p.m. and did not resurface, according to the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office.

“The incident is now a body recovery operation, with teams actively working to locate the individual,” the sheriff’s office said. “This remains an active scene, and further updates will be provided once they become available.”

The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office, Sonoma County Fire District, Graton Fire, Cal Fire, California Highway Patrol, and CHP helicopter H30 all responded to the reported drowning.
