After years of talk, two sets of approved plans, and more than a little community impatience, Cloverdale’s long-planned Alexander Valley Healthcare Wellness Center is moving forward — this time in a smaller, greener, and (they hope) more community-friendly form.
At their Aug. 5 meeting, the Planning Commission voted unanimously to recommend approval of a modified conditional use permit and design review for the project at 321 S. Cloverdale Blvd., the southwest corner of Citrus Fair Drive and the boulevard.
Smaller footprint, same services
The original 2022 plan called for a 47,000-square-foot, three-story building. Architect Matt Stromberg told commissioners they’ve trimmed it to a two-story, 27,000-square-foot building without cutting services:
“All of the programming that was originally in the three-story building has remained … primary care clinic, dental clinic, behavioral health, urgent care, wellness programming, administrative offices,” Stromberg said…
