Pickett Fire Explodes to Over 2,000 Acres; Humboldt-Del Norte CAL FIRE Engines Join Massive Response

Two fire engines from the CAL FIRE Humboldt-Del Norte Unit have joined the firefighting efforts on the Pickett Fire in Napa County, which erupted just before 3 p.m. Thursday, August 22, northeast of Calistoga, and quickly ballooned to over 1,000 acres within three hours. Their deployment comes as Northern California faces dangerous fire weather with a heat advisory in effect and critical fire conditions forecast for the region.
