About 30 Kaiser Permanente nurse midwives and nurse anesthetists in Sonoma County are expected to join hundreds of their Northern California colleagues in a one-day strike next week against the health care giant.
The planned Monday strike is being organized by United Nurses Associations of California/Union of Health Care Professionals, which represents 14 certified nurse midwives and 17 registered nurse anesthetists in Sonoma County.
The union, which represents 600 midwives and nurse anesthetists from 20 hospitals across the Bay Area and the Central Valley, delivered its 10-day strike notice last week amid ongoing bargaining with Kaiser.
