(KRON) — The driver of a white Saturn sedan was arrested for driving under the influence and causing a two-car collision Thursday afternoon that shut down traffic for several hours, said Santa Rosa police.

The crash was reported at 2:45 p.m. Thursday in the area of Corby and Bellevue avenues.
The impaired driver was later identified as Miguel Angel Martinez, 39, of Santa Rosa.
“An SRPD DUI/Accident Investigator conducted a DUI investigation and ultimately concluded that the driver was under the influence of a drug while operating his vehicle,” said police. “While arresting the suspect, he also possessed a controlled substance and narcotics paraphernalia. The suspect was on probation (with prior convictions related to property crimes and narcotics) and had an outstanding arrest warrant.”
