Whole Foods faces backlash after closing historic Mill Valley store

A grassroots campaign is underway in Marin County to save one of the oldest Whole Foods stores in the country, after the company confirmed it will not reopen the Miller Avenue location in Mill Valley.

The small store, housed in a distinctive Quonset hut since 1989, closed temporarily in July for maintenance. Whole Foods said subsequent assessments revealed more extensive repairs were needed than anticipated, and it would permanently close the store.

Whole Foods said that all employees have been reassigned to nearby locations…
