On Sunday, a Santa Rosa restaurant became the scene of an alleged assault with a firearm, with the restaurant’s owner being arrested for the crime. The Santa Rosa Police Department responded to a call concerning a possible shooting at Dos Culturas Restaurant at 1709 Santa Rosa Avenue, discovering upon their arrival that an altercation involving a gun had taken place.
Moises Flores, the 48-year-old owner of the establishment, was identified by witnesses as the assailant and police officers located him inside the restaurant, taking him into custody without further altercations, A report by the Santa Rosa Police Department detailed the events, which began as a heated argument over a bill between Flores and a 37-year-old man that turned physical and spilled outside and it was during this fight that Flores is said to have retrieved a handgun from inside the premises and fired it, the sound of either a gunshot or glass breaking was reported by witnesses. A shattered window of a vehicle was later connected to the incident, with evidence suggesting that the firearm struck it.
After the attack, detectives from the Violent Crimes Investigation Team of the SRPD took charge of the case. They executed a search warrant for Dos Culturas, where they found a .357 revolver along with live ammunition in the restaurant’s kitchen.
