The Folsom Lake Falcons fought through two intense, hard-fought home matches this past week, showing grit and energy despite falling short against Santa Rosa (3–1) on Wednesday and Modesto (3–0) on Friday. Both matches featured long rallies, impressive defensive plays, and stretches where Folsom had the crowd on its feet.
Wednesday: Santa Rosa Escapes with 3–1 Win
Folsom Lake came out swinging in the first set against Santa Rosa, taking control early and closing it out 25–21 thanks to steady defense and well-timed attacks from the outside hitters. Setter communication and strong serves helped the Falcons keep Santa Rosa off balance.
The visiting Bear Cubs regrouped, however, taking the next three sets (25–18, 25–20, 25–22).
Despite the loss, Folsom Lake had several bright spots. The back row held strong against a heavy Santa Rosa attack, with standout defensive plays that kept long rallies alive.
