Novato Police Arrest Third Juvenile in Connection with September Shooting Linked to Robbery Attempt

Novato Police Department has made an additional arrest related to last month’s shooting incident that was linked to a failed robbery attempt, as per a social media post by the department. After initial detentions on October 1, detectives have continued to investigate, leading to the apprehension of a 16-year-old male yesterday. The young suspect is now facing charges for aiding and abetting a crime, participating in a criminal street gang, and violating probation. The events trace back to a September 1st confrontation on Third St near Grant Ave, where two masked individuals reportedly demanded money from three men at about 9:15 PM and asked about gang affiliations. The situation quickly escalated when the victims tried to escape hastily, leading to a physical altercation. One victim, in an act of self-defense, stabbed an assailant who responded by firing a gun, grazing the victim’s head.
