Last Friday, the Petaluma Police Department reported a collision on South McDowell Boulevard and Caulfield Lane, caused by what was later affirmed to be an inebriated driver.
The suspect, 22-year-old Petaluma resident Rodrigo Rosales-Ramirez, was found by officers to be intoxicated after his vehicle struck four parked cars seemingly. First responders arrived swiftly at the scene to administer aid to Rosales-Ramirez and his passenger, who were both transported to the hospital with injuries that were deemed non-life-threatening. An on-scene investigation followed, and according to the Petaluma Police Department, evidence, combined with field sobriety testing, confirmed that Rosales-Ramirez was indeed operating the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.
Rosales-Ramirez was arrested and booked into the Sonoma County Jail following medical clearance. The charges filed against him include felony driving under the influence resulting in injury, a grave offense that reflects the seriousness of his actions on that fateful night.
