A storm sweeping through the region on Wednesday morning downed power to thousands of customers in the North Bay, including an elementary school in northern Sonoma County that canceled classes for the day.
As of 7:40 a.m., PG&E reported that 5,670 customers without power in the Bay Area, and 4,100 of those were located in Marin and Sonoma counties, and another 600 on the Peninsula.
