Over the weekend, Petaluma Police officers were called to East Washington Street to address a reported disturbance. According to the Petaluma Police Department, the troublemakers had vacated the scene by the time officers arrived. However, the peace was short-lived, as a speeding vehicle soon caught the attention of the law enforcement on Ellis Street.
The fleeing vehicle, a dark blue BMW, lost control and hit a curb. Despite this setback, the driver, Hector Reyes, an 18-year-old Petaluma resident, managed to evade officers momentarily before being caught at Ellis Street Apartments.
