Trio of Thanksgiving earthquakes rattle northern Sonoma County

(KRON) — A series of medium-seized earthquakes shook northeast Sonoma County Thanksgiving morning.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, 3.6-magnitude and 3.7-magnitude earthquakes struck east of Mercuryville Thursday near the Sonoma-Lake County border at 4:21 a.m.

A third Thanksgiving shaker hit the area at 9:11 a.m. The latest earthquake was the strongest of the bunch with a magnitude of 3.9.

The earthquakes come a day after a series of earthquakes hit the Gilroy area.
