Elderly pedestrian killed in Sonoma County hit-and-run: PD

(KRON) — An elderly man was killed in a hit-and-run crash at a crosswalk in Rohnert Park around 6:35 p.m. Friday, Rohnert Park Public Safety told KRON4 News.

The crash happened at a crosswalk near the intersection of Snyder Lane and Capri Way. Police and firefighters responded and pronounced the man dead at the scene of the crash.

Witnesses told police that the man was using the crosswalk when a pickup truck hit him and kept driving. Based on surveillance cameras and vehicle parts left behind at the scene, the suspect was likely driving a lifted, black, 2014 to 2018 Chevy Silverado with chrome wheels, according to Rohnert Park Public Safety.

“The truck will have significant front end damage,” Rohnert Park Public Safety said.
