Multi-Agency Effort Leads to Successful Medical Rescue Near Fairfax, CHP Delivers On-Site Training to Enhance Future Operations

Earlier this week, an individual experienced a medical emergency on Yolanda Trail, near Fairfax, necessitating a complex rescue operation that showcased the coordination of multiple agencies. According to a social media post by the CHP – Golden Gate Division Air Operations, their helicopter, CHP H-32, was requested to assist in the rescue by Ross Valley Fire and Marin County Fire. Equipped with a Helicopter Rescue Technician (HRT) paramedic from Marin County Fire, the helicopter crew performed hoist operations to safely lift the patient for transport to the awaiting ground ambulance.

Support on the ground was vital to the success of the operation. Marin County Search and Rescue, collaborating with Marin Water District rangers, the Marin County Deputy Sheriff’s, and additional CHP aircraft, CHP H30, worked to stabilize and prepare the patient.
