After years of rumors and road trips to neighboring towns for a chicken sandwich fix, Petaluma is finally getting its first Chick-fil-A. The new restaurant opens today on Petaluma Boulevard North in a purpose-built building that replaced the long-running Cattlemen’s Steakhouse, and locals can expect a packed parking lot and plenty of cow-print outfits.
In a press release, Chick-fil-A announced that Chick-fil-A Petaluma, at 5012 Petaluma Blvd. N. will open at 6:30 AM. The company states that the locally owned franchise, led by owner-operator Chris Cannon, will create approximately 70 jobs in town, and Chick-fil-A Inc. will donate $25,000 to Feeding America to support the Redwood Empire Food Bank.
Opening Day Perks
Patch reports that guests who show up in cow print on opening day are invited to redeem one free entrée or a kid’s meal, a long-standing tradition at new Chick-fil-A openings. The freebie is limited to one per person in cow attire and is available only while supplies last, so the early birds may catch both the chicken and the deal.
From Steakhouse To Chicken Sandwich
KSRO notes that the new restaurant sits on the former Cattlemen’s Steakhouse parcel. The station reports the steakhouse was demolished nearly a year ago and that the Chick-fil-A project received its initial approval more than two years earlier, turning a longtime local beef destination into a shiny new chicken stop.
Hours, Services, And Hiring
According to Chick-fil-A, the Petaluma location will offer dine-in, carry-out, delivery, and mobile curbside service, with regular hours Monday through Saturday.
