The team behind Geyserville favorite Diavola has quietly expanded its footprint, opening Pastasciutta, a petite Italian bottega just a few steps from the main restaurant. The new shop, which started serving customers in late November, focuses on housemade pasta, prepared meals and imported pantry staples, pitching itself as a holiday-ready stop for anyone craving restaurant-quality lasagna, panini and grab-and-go goods to take home.
As reported by Sonoma Magazine, Pastasciutta’s chilled cases are packed with handmade pasta, fresh focaccia and a lineup of imported Italian meats and cheeses. A hot case keeps things cozy with meatballs in tomato ragù, Tuscan ribs and roasted winter vegetables. Sweet tooths are covered too, with made-to-order cannolis and layered tiramisu trays ready for holiday takeout.
A Holiday-Ready Market
Sonoma County Tourism describes the operation as Pastasciutta La Bodega, a ready-to-go market offering paninis, salads, hot-bar dishes and take-and-bake lasagnas, all alongside housemade pasta and sauces. The setup essentially lets Diavola’s kitchen reach folks who want the same flavors but in an easy, market-style format instead of a full sit-down meal.
Panettone Splurge And Ligurian Touches
Per Sonoma Magazine, the shop also carries From Roy pastry chef Roy Shvartzapel’s panettone, priced at $96, which co-owner Dino Bugica suggested would turn anyone into a “holiday party hero.” The same piece notes that co-owner Sonja Bugica’s Ligurian roots show up across the menu, in details like pickled puntarelle, rosemary-topped focaccia, cheese-and-herb ravioli and a green-pesto lasagna.
Small-Town Sidekick To Diavola
Pastasciutta sits right next door to Diavola, whose own site highlights wood-fired pizzas and house-cured salumi, with local coverage long celebrating Dino Bugica’s cooking.
