Sonoma County, CA – A magnitude 3.0 earthquake struck Northern California on Wednesday afternoon, centered about 8 kilometers northwest of The Geysers geothermal field, a seismically active area near the Sonoma–Lake County line, according to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS).

According to the USGS, the quake occurred at 7:28 a.m. local time at a shallow depth of approximately 1.8 kilometers, increasing the likelihood that it was felt by residents in nearby communities including Cloverdale, Healdsburg, Clear Lake, Calistoga, and parts of northern Napa Valley
