(KRON) — Three people, including a child, were displaced from their Santa Rosa home after a fire broke out behind their pellet stove Wednesday night, according to the Santa Rosa Fire Department.
Firefighters were dispatched at around 11 p.m. to a two-story house at 5537 Yerba Buena Road on the report of a fire. The three residents — two adults and a child — were alerted to the fire when they saw smoke and embers coming from the wall behind the pellet stove, SRFD said. All three safely evacuated before fire crews arrived.
The first arriving engine company removed sheetrock from the affected wall and opened the ceiling. Firefighters saw that the fire had also extended into the attic space.
