4.2 magnitude quake strikes near Cloverdale in early morning

A 4.2 magnitude earthquake struck an area northeast of Cloverdale in the North Bay early Thursday, according to date from the U.S. Geological Survey.

The epicenter was detected in a rugged area around 12 miles east of Cloverdale, according to USGS data. The epicenter appeared to be close to the Aidlin geothermal power plant.
