Marin County artist loses nearly everything after historic flooding

MARIN COUNTY, Calif. (KRON) — A Sausalito resident is in shock after losing nearly everything she owned during historic flooding last week in Marin County. Jessy Jo Darling, who had just moved to the area in November 2025, experienced a nearly four-foot surge of water entering her home.

The flooding in the North Bay resulted from king tides and heavy rains, leading to significant property damage across the region. Darling, an artist, was out of town for work when the flood struck and upon receiving panicked calls from friends, she realized the extent of the destruction in her home.

Darling expressed the emotional toll of this loss, saying, “It is a lot to deal with. My books are gone… they meant a lot.” The artist highlighted that she had collected some pieces of art and essentials over the years, stating, “Some of this – I have had for years.” Unfortunately, many of these items were devastated by the floodwaters…
