Sonoma company recalls tamales sold at Whole Foods over listeria risk

Tamales made by a Sonoma County company and sold at Whole Foods stores in California and Nevada were voluntarily recalled over concerns that they may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, according to federal regulators.

Primavera Nueva announced the recall after a U.S. Food and Drug Administration inspection found that earlier production records did not consistently verify internal cooking temperatures required to control harmful bacteria.
