(KRON) — A woman who embezzled more than $100,000 from a Morgan Hill winery and spent over half of that on trips to a Sonoma County casino was sentenced to jail time on Thursday, according to the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office.
Between October 2022 and March 2024, Stacey Greenlee, 62, of Gilroy, worked at Guglielmo Winery as an administrative assistant. Guglielmo Winery is a century-old family-owned business with an elderly owner, prosecutors said. As part of her job responsibilities, Greenlee had access to the business’s bank accounts.
Evidence from a Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office investigation showed the Greenlee “took advantage of her position” to fraudulently open two credit cards in her name and write fraudulent checks, prosecutors said. Greenlee embezzled more than $100,000 before her arraignment in November 2024…
