Constellation Energy Corp. has finished its $26.6 billion acquisition of Calpine Corp., operator of most of the geothermal power plants in The Geysers field straddling Sonoma and Lake counties.
The transaction, originally announced a year ago and completed early this year, finalizing one of the largest power-generation deals in U.S. history and creating what the company describes as the nation’s largest producer of electricity.
