Update on Parking Garage Study

As Downtown Napa continues to flourish as a vibrant hub for commerce, culture and community gatherings, ensuring accessible and adequate parking remains a top strategic priority for the City. To address the growing demand for parking infrastructure, the City is taking a critical step forward this month.

We will be partnering with Walker Consultants as the lead project partner to lead a comprehensive feasibility study for a new parking garage structure. An industry leader in parking design and mobility planning, Walker Consultants will work closely with the City to analyze site conditions, design constraints and community needs.

The team is tasked with evaluating two specific, publicly-owned locations in Downtown Napa for the potential construction of a new public parking garage. These sites were identified based on staff recommendations to maximize utility and convenience:

  • The “Lot X” Site: The “Cinedome Master Plan” site, consisting of mainly surface parking lots at Pearl and Soscol.
  • The “Lot A” Site: Currently a surface parking lot situated between 1st St. and 2nd St.

The study will provide a detailed comparison of these two locations to determine the preferred site and concept layout. The goal is not simply to pour concrete for cars, but to create a forward-thinking facility that serves multiple community needs.
