A Sonoma County jury on Friday convicted a man of murdering 13-year-old Sarah Geer in 1982, marking the resolution of the county’s oldest cold case to go to trial, prosecutors announced.
James Oliver Unick faces a sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole after they found that the killing occurred during the commission of a sexual assault, prosecutors said.
