This spring, the Sonoma County Agriculture Preservation and Open Space District invites residents to join field-based workshops at Saddle Mountain Open Space Preserve. The sessions, held on April 11 and April 26 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., will explore prescribed fire, grassland ecology, and forest resilience. Participants will visit a grassland after a prescribed burn and learn how fire supports a healthy landscape.
Recent community service efforts at Nathanson Creek brought volunteers together on Martin Luther King Jr. Day to remove trash, clear debris, and care for native plants. The creek has been restored into a thriving habitat supporting Chinook salmon.
