A suspected serial bank robber accused of targeting multiple North Bay cities is now behind bars after a coordinated law enforcement operation that spanned several jurisdictions.
Authorities confirmed that a man believed to be responsible for a string of bank robberies across Rohnert Park, San Rafael, Novato, and San Anselmo was arrested Thursday in American Canyon.
Suspect Identified Through High-Tech Investigation
Investigators determined that Allen Arturo Sanchez Olivares, a resident of American Canyon, was allegedly connected to all four robberies. Law enforcement agencies collaborated closely, pooling intelligence and resources to track down the suspect.
A key breakthrough in the investigation came from automated license plate reader (ALPR) cameras, which linked a vehicle associated with Sanchez Olivares to the crime scenes. Authorities reported that the vehicle was detected in the vicinity during the time each robbery occurred — strengthening the case against him.
