Three killed in suspected DUI head-on crash outside storied Napa winery

A head-on collision outside a Napa winery left three people dead and four others seriously injured, authorities said Saturday afternoon.

Just before noon, California Highway Patrol responded to a crash near 5766 Silverado Trail, the address of Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars. Authorities said a Mitsubishi sedan was driving south on Silverado Trail when it side-swiped an SUV traveling in the opposite direction, then collided head-on with the Toyota sedan traveling behind the SUV.

The driver of the Mitsubishi sedan, 58-year-old William Dene Brumley of Vallejo, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of a drug, CHP spokesperson Marc Renspurger said in a statement. He was treated at Santa Rosa Memorial hospital and was expected to survive. The two passengers in his car both died from their injuries, Renspurger said…
