Sheriff Honors Fallen Deputy Frank Trejo

The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office honored Deputy Frank Vasquez Trejo, who was killed in the line of duty on March 29, 1995. Deputy Trejo was fatally shot while checking a parked truck at the Santa Rosa Saddlery lot, now Smith’s Golf Cars, west of Santa Rosa. The shooter, Robert Walter Scully, was convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to death; his accomplice, Brenda Kay Moore, received 14 years in state prison. Deputy Trejo was posthumously awarded the Gold Medal of Valor for his service and sacrifice.
