A man was arrested in Petaluma early Sunday morning after allegedly leading police on a vehicle and foot chase and driving under the influence of alcohol, according to the Police Department.
Just before 1:30 a.m., officers allegedly saw a BMW committing multiple traffic violations in the area of N. Water and E. Washington streets. The officers attempted to make a traffic stop, but allege the BMW took off and led them on a vehicle pursuit for two miles through the city which reached excessive speeds. After allegedly ignoring stop lights and other traffic controls, the driver jumped out of the car by Ponderosa Drive and ran on foot. He was caught about a quarter mile away near the Baywood Apartment complex.
