Sonoma Co.: Equipment Rental Company Agrees To Nearly $245,000 Fine For Allegedly Violating Hazardous Waste Regulations

A Florida-based equipment rental company agreed to pay roughly $245,000 in civil penalties to resolve accusations that it violated state environmental laws when it failed to fix a pair of broken oil containment systems in a timely manner, according to the Sonoma County District Attorney’s Office.

Herc Rentals Inc., which rents a range of heavy equipment and tools for construction and emergency management, was accused of violating the state’s laws and regulations related to the underground storage of hazardous substances, the DA’s office said in a news release.
