SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – Today begins warm and humid across west-central and southwest Florida with temperatures starting in the upper 70s. Along the coast, a few showers and isolated thunderstorms may develop during the morning as Gulf moisture moves onshore. Expect a mix of clouds and sunshine with temperatures climbing to around 90 degrees by afternoon. It will feel hotter, with heat index values reaching 100 to 104 degrees. While scattered showers and thunderstorms remain possible through the day, the greatest coverage should gradually shift inland during the afternoon.
Monday and Tuesday bring more of the same. Morning showers will be possible near the coast and Gulf waters, followed by scattered afternoon thunderstorms moving inland. High temperatures will stay near 89 to 90 degrees, while muggy nighttime lows remain in the upper 70s.
