Fallen WWII soldier laid to rest in Sarasota 82 years after plane shot down

SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – A World War II soldier was laid to rest at Sarasota National Cemetery on Monday, 82 years after his plane was shot down over Germany.

Technical Sergeant Charles C. Palmer Jr., a U.S. Army gunner, was honored at a ceremony attended by family members, including one of his last living relatives who remembers him.
