Supplies gathered for seniors affected by roof collapse in Bradenton

BRADENTON, Fla. (WFLA) — After more than 150 residents were evacuated from the Aviata Assisted Living Facility in Bradenton, community members gathered supplies to help those whose whole lives were uprooted over the weekend.

“Time is of the essence for our seniors. I mean, we think it’ll be fine one day, and the next day everything’s not fine. So, you know, we make sure that we start doing things immediately,” Chaz Davis from the Suncoast Aging Network said.

Davis is working to gather donations, including blankets, pillows, twin bed linens, wipes, briefs of all sizes, chux pads, and other necessities, to bring to Aviata residents who were unable to take their belongings…
