NORTH PORT — A recent matching challenge was successful for the Child Protection Center, with a $500,000 challenge from Gulf Coast Community Foundation and their donors notching it up to $1 million to expand one of its facilities.
The funds will advance work at CPC’s Keith D. Monda Family Campus of Healing in North Port.
“CPC serves as the only nonprofit solely dedicated to the prevention, intervention, and treatment of child abuse in Sarasota and DeSoto counties,” it stated in a news release. “Gulf Coast Community Foundation launched the match to raise awareness and support to meet the heightened demand for child abuse services as the population continues to grow in South Sarasota County.”…
