SARASOTA COUNTY, Fla. – Seven people were injured after a Breeze Transit bus collided with another vehicle and slammed directly into a monument sign for State College of Florida in Sarasota County.
The collision occurred along the 8000 block of South Tamiami Trail. Following the initial impact with the passenger vehicle, the county transit bus veered off the roadway and struck the college’s concrete entrance sign.
Emergency medical responders treated a total of seven people at the scene. Three patients were transported by ambulance to the Wellen Park Emergency Room, while a fourth person was taken to Sarasota Memorial Hospital Venice for treatment.
