Chipotle, Texas Roadhouse OK’d for Venice Crossing

VENICE — Two new restaurants proposed for the Venice Crossing commercial center along Laurel Road got approvals from the Planning Commission Tuesday, though one still needs an OK from the City Council.

The site-and-development plan for Chipotle at Venice Crossing was approved 7-0 with little discussion. It allows a 2,453-square-foot fast-service restaurant with a drive-thru at 309 Holstein St., the road that will provide internal access to all the outparcels along Laurel Road.

The address is one parcel west of the easternmost property in Venice Common, which Planner Brittany Smith said PNC Bank has expressed an interest in. A site-and-development plan application for a Whataburger on the parcel west of the future Chipotle is under review, she said…
