Mysterious Disappearance: Bradenton Police Seek Info on Missing 67-Year-old Catherine Stirm

  • Bradenton Police Department intensifies the investigation into the disappearance of Catherine Stirm, last contacted on January 22. Her car was found abandoned, and her brother, Scott Stirm, has since committed suicide.

The Bradenton Police Department (BPD), in collaboration with the Manatee County Homicide Task Force, is urgently seeking information on the suspicious disappearance of 67-year-old Catherine Stirm.

Reported missing on January 29 by coworkers who last had contact with her on January 22, the search for Catherine has taken a grim turn with the recent suicide of her brother, Scott Stirm, amid police attempts to question him.

Catherine was last known to be in contact with her coworkers on Monday, January 22. Concerns were raised when she failed to show up for work, prompting a missing person report.

Her vehicle was subsequently discovered on January 30 at the Sawgrass Cove Apartment complex located at 47th Ave. W., Bradenton, where her 64-year-old brother Scott resided.

Despite multiple attempts to engage with Scott Stirm for questioning, law enforcement found themselves at a standstill until a search warrant executed on February 1 at his apartment led to the discovery of his vehicle at a Days Inn in Brooksville.
