PSTA could take St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport travelers to beaches

CLEARWATER, Fla. (WFLA) — Public transportation could be coming to the St. Petersburg- Clearwater International Airport.

The airport currently doesn’t offer any public transportation options and the community has been asking for an easier way to get to the beaches.

To create a new transportation service between the two, the Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority has an idea.

They hope to have nearly $122 million for their 2025 fiscal year budget. With this proposed budget, they would expect to have about $1 million in leftover revenue.

They could use the extra money to hire a third-party company to run a new transportation service from the airport to Clearwater beaches.

The Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority is scheduled to present third-party company options next month. The budget is supposed to be finalized in September.
