Sarasota restaurant permanently closed after being open for six years

A taqueria offering inventive versions of Latin American dishes, and a staple of the dining and drinking scene in Sarasota’s Gulf Gate neighborhood, has joined the roster of local restaurants that have recently shut their doors .

Screaming Goat Taqueria has permanently closed its 6566 Gateway Ave. location, according to statements posted to the restaurant’s website and Facebook page . Serving cuisine “inspired by the vibrant street food scene of Latin America,” Screaming Goat was opened by Malin Parker (formerly of Morton’s Gourmet Market and Fred’s) around six years ago at 6606 Superior Ave., before relocating to another nearby location in Gulf Gate.
