‘Grief and Grace’ sessions to focus on healing

VENICE — Grief is the normal reaction of a person who has lost somebody they loved and cared about.

But despite the fact that an innumerable number of people experience such an emotion worldwide, it doesn’t make it any easier do deal with as an individual.

That’s where Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Venice comes in. It will be hosting a 6-week “Grief and Grace” series.

“In these sessions, you get the support, strength, encouragement and knowledge from trained facilitators and others in the group to help you go through this journey to a place of healing,” a press release about the event stated.

These sessions will be held on Mondays from 10:30 a.m. to noon, Oct. 7 to Nov. 11, in the church office at 790 S. Tamiami Trail in Venice. To register or to get more information, contact Barb Spenks, the parish nurse, at 941-488-4942.
