Tampa, St. Pete, both offering free laundry service in the wake of Hurricane Helene

Having clean clothes and linens is one of the most overlooked parts of recovering from a disaster, but officials in Tampa and St. Petersburg are doing their part to help.

Both municipalities are now offering free laundry services for their residents at multiple locations.

In Tampa, laundry can be done for free at

hurricane comfort stations in Palmetto Beach and Davis Islands

until further notice

The City of Tampa will also work with Engage Current to

offer free laundry assistance on Tuesday, Oct. 1 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

inside Wash Zone (5223 S Dale Mabry Hwy.)

Across the bridge yesterday, the

City of St. Petersburg said it has opened two laundry facilities for residents still without power

. The facilities, listed below will be available until further notice.

  • 3803 Haines Rd. N ( parking lot) 7 a.m.-7 p.m.
  • 2970 54th Ave. S (Easy Kleen Laundromat) 6 a.m.-10 p.m.
