After nearly two decades in business , a Sarasota multiplex is shutting its doors.
AMC Sarasota 12’s last day of business before permanently closing will be Thursday, Oct. 31, AMC Theatres media relations manager Cassie Nichols confirmed in an email to the Herald-Tribune. The 12-screen movie theater, including IMAX, located at Sarasota Square Mall, opened in December 2006.
“I can confirm that AMC will cease operations at Sarasota 12 after close of business on Thursday, 10/31/24,” Nichols said in a statement. “AMC routinely reviews the theaters in our circuit, as well as opportunities outside of our circuit, and makes decisions based on what will best strengthen the company going forward. We thank our Sarasota 12 guests for their patronage and encourage them to continue enjoying the AMC experience at AMC Bradenton 20.”
