‘Total mystery’: Family seeks answers in 27-year-old father’s death in Bradenton

BRADENTON, Fla. (WFLA) — The investigation into the death of 27-year-old Sherrone Jackson continued nearly two weeks after her was found unconscious in a West Bradenton neighborhood.

Police said Sherrone Jackson was in the area to pick up a spare key. A ride share service dropped him off around 10:45 p.m. on Oct. 29 near 68th Street West and 12th Avenue.

Evidence told investigators he was still there waiting for a ride home around 11:55 p.m. About two hours later, a passerby found him lying on the ground unconscious. What happened in those two hours remains a mystery that his family hopes police figure out.

Police said Sherrone Jackson was found with an injury to the back of his head. He sustained a traumatic brain injury, never regained consciousness, and passed away from his injuries on Nov. 6.

Bradenton Police received preliminary autopsy results from the Medical Examiner’s Office this week. Unfortunately, police said the early findings, which indicated Sherrone Jackson died from trauma to his head, haven’t told them anything they didn’t already know.
