North Port Called FL’s “Most Livable City,” A “City On The Rise” & Among The Fastest Growing

Often, articles that I write about the best cities to retire or relocate to Florida generate much interest. It seems that some are looking for livable, inexpensive, and safe cities in Florida to call home. A recent survey of the “most livable” cities in America wasn’t great for Florida overall. However, Florida’s “most livable city” – Northport – has received additional accolades from other publications.

About The Study And What It Measured: Rent Cafe recently identified what it felt were the “most livable” places in the United States in 2024. The findings were published in late October of 2024. To conduct the study, the publication looked at metrics such as the cost of living, the income growth rate, insured rates, mental health, physical health, and quality of life, to name a few examples.

How Did Florida Fare?: Florida did not fare well. Florida did not make its first appearance on the list until number 65. And that was North Port. Gainesville came in 67th. Deltona came in 89th.

Florida’s “Most Livable City” Has Received Another Accolade From Southern Living: North Port ranked as Florida’s “most livable city” by Rent Cafe, but that publication isn’t the only one who has recognized it.
