Mosaic support helps to feed neighbors experiencing hunger in DeSoto County
Recent $45,000 grant to All Faiths Food Bank continues longtime hunger relief support in DeSoto County
ARCADIA — Mosaic awarded a $45,000 grant designated to All Faiths Food Bank’s Mobile Pantry program in DeSoto County, according to a news release.
The news release noted Mosaic has contributed about $840,000 in gifts since 2012 to All Faiths.
All Faiths Food Bank works to fight hunger through its programs in the region, the news release stated. It noted that 19% of DeSoto County’s population is considered “food-insecure,” according to a recent Feeding America “Map the Meal Gap” study.
“There are unique challenges in rural areas, as social services are less concentrated and more difficult to access. Through our mobile pantries and farm market in DeSoto County, we can ensure our neighbors have access to the nutritional support they need,” All Faiths Food Bank President/CEO Nelle S. Miller stated. “We are deeply grateful for Mosaic’s generosity, which showcases its commitment to ending hunger and improving lives in DeSoto County.”
