Al Kanacevic closed La Stanza Ristorante in April, marking the end of a 20-year chapter on Dearborn Street.
Keith and Laurie Farlow have a new dream that will start a brand new chapter.
The Farlows purchased La Stanza from Kanacevic in hopes of bringing a destination to Dearborn.
“The concept is going to be unique, but it’s built around steak and pasta,” Keith Farlow said. “We’re also going to have some great burgers.”
Laurie Farlow said the restaurant will serve lunch and dinner, but the Farlows want the steakhouse experience to be something that will bring people from Sarasota, North Port and Punta Gorda to Englewood.
Keith and Laurie Farlow also own Farlow’s on The Water, one of Englewood’s established go-to dining experiences.
The new restaurant will allow the Farlows to try new things, culinarily, including a new wood grill.
“We’ll be one of only three restaurants in the whole state of Florida that will have this custom wood grill,” he said. “It’s our feature grill.”
The grill will be custom made by Chris Demant, a fabricator who moved from Denmark to Atlanta.
