Fatal home invasion in Bradenton leaves one suspect dead, another in custody

BRADENTON, Florida — A home invasion in the River Club community turned deadly when a homeowner shot one of two intruders, resulting in the suspect’s death, according to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office. The second suspect was apprehended nearby.The incident occurred just after 9 p.m. on December 29, 2024, when two men were seen on surveillance footage entering a home on Hickory Hammock Circle. The homeowner fired multiple shots, critically injuring one intruder, who later died at Sarasota Memorial Hospital. The deceased suspect has been identified as 27-year-old Jorge Nestevan Flores-Toledo, also known as Anibal Miller-Valencia, from Mexico. He had a history of residential burglary and was considered armed and dangerous, stated the source.The second suspect, 39-year-old Michel Soto-Mella from Chile, was arrested and charged with armed burglary, with additional charges pending. Authorities are investigating the possibility of other individuals being involved in the crime.
