Venice community adopts three-legged alligator, ‘Stumpy’

VENICE, Fla. (WFLA) — A gated community in Venice has “adopted” a three-legged alligator.

For the last five years residence of Bridle Oaks have grown used to seeing the three-legged friend who they call “Stumpy” roaming their neighborhood.

In a photo sent in by Sara Young, a resident of Bridle Oaks, you can see Stumpy’s front right leg missing as the alligator crawls in the grass…
